Synopsis:

Venice lives from its past - but will the city also have a future? What made the Venetians * of the Renaissance open to the multitude of worlds? EVERYDAY LIFE: 3 women - 3 biographies - 3 modes of magnetism. Living with the forces of nature - Venice can feel as if a red goddess of energy and glory were living under the villas. Can the ritual to awaken them save the water city? Maybe - The biology (including decay) made the residents of Venice materialistic, tough, discreet, sensual, polyphonic. VENICE VENICE: A danced journey into the worlds of 3 different women and a performance with the goddess of energy and death to save Venice - inspired by the multitude of perspectives in J. Tintoretto's paintings.

Project funded by: City of Cologne, Cultural Office and RheinEnergieStiftung Kultur.

Creation in cooperation with Orangerie Theater, Cologne.
